Let's explore different kinds of acrylic painting in a class that focuses on play and self-expression. We'll use a variety of tools and materials, mix drawing and painting, and try exaggerating colors to create fun, stylized art. Intermediate/Advanced Painting at the McConnell Art Center

Take your painting practice to the next level. Explore topics in acrylic or oil painting including composition, color relationships, and developing a personal artistic style. This class is appropriate for students who have completed at least one painting class. Projects can be completed in acrylic or oil paint.

Intro to Acrylic Painting at Bryn Du Art Center

Curious about acrylic painting but don’t know where to start? For anyone who has wanted to try painting, this one-time workshop will introduce students to all the basic techniques needed to make a painting from start-to-finish. We will explore using brushes and mixing color, as well as complete a still-life painting. No need to buy paints yet, the instructor provides all supplies.

Landscape Painting at the McConnell Art Center

Landscape painting lets us take a closer look at the world around us. In this class, we will explore topics in landscape painting including painting skies and weather conditions, painting in perspective, and painting interior vs exterior scenes. We’ll also analyze different landscape paintings from art history and play with painting techniques and materials to help us develop a personal art style.

Abstract Painting at the McConnell Art Center

Try abstract painting, whether you are looking to further your painting practice or aren’t sure what even makes an artwork abstract. In this class, we'll explore the world of abstract painting--art that doesn't look like real life. Students will create abstract art inspired by words, test out textures and experiment with mixing materials, along with other projects. Students can use either acrylic or oil paints for class.

Paper Marbling at Franklin Park Conservatory

Create fluid designs and patterns with paper marbling technique. In this one-time workshop, students will experiment with floating inks to create marbled paper, and then use those papers to decorate unique greeting cards or sketchbooks. All materials provided!

Drawing Community Center Landscapes at the Bob Crane Community Center

Explore the Bob Crane Community Center through drawing. In this one-time workshop, participants learn basic techniques for drawing what they see, experiment with a variety of drawing tools, and then explore select areas of the community center to create their own landscape or architecture drawing. Landscape sketching is a very portable art form, so practice your drawing skills with us for a hobby that can travel anywhere.
