Animal Painting at Bryn Du Art Center
Create paintings inspired by the animal kingdom. In this four-session class, students will build the skills to paint furry, feathered, or scaly creatures. Students will choose an animal subject and take their painting from the drawing stage to completed painting with help from instructor Michelle Boerio. In each class we’ll practice techniques to mix color, create texture, and add detail to our paintings. Students are welcome to use acrylic or oil paint. Instructor will provide reference images, drawing tools, and back-ups of supplies.

Abstract Painting at the McConnell Art Center
Try abstract painting, whether you are looking to further your painting practice or aren’t sure what even makes an artwork abstract. In this class, we'll explore the world of abstract painting--art that doesn't look like real life. Students will create abstract art inspired by words, test out textures and experiment with mixing materials, along with other projects. Students can use either acrylic or oil paints for class.

Landscape Painting at the McConnell Art Center
Let’s take a closer look at the world around us. In this class, we will explore topics in landscape painting including painting skies and weather conditions, painting in perspective, and painting interior vs exterior scenes. We’ll also analyze different landscape paintings from art history and play with painting techniques and materials to help us develop a personal art style. Students can choose to use either oil paints or medium-to-heavy bodied acrylics.

Flowing Floral Watercolors at Franklin Park Conservatory
Explore dynamic and flowing watercolors in this one-time workshop. We will create a playful floral painting that uses wet-into-wet watercolor techniques. No experience with art is required, this class welcomes all skill levels. All supplies are provided by the instructor, but students are welcome to bring their own paints and brushes if desired.

Autumn Woods Paint and Sip at Franklin Park Conservatory
Create a colorful fall landscape in this fall themed paint & sip. In this one-time workshop, sip a glass of wine and practice making art with acrylics in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We’ll practice the basics of acrylic painting and use a variety of to paint an autumn woodland scene.
