Tiny Art at Wild Goose Creative by Michelle Boerio

Four of my little guys are on view tonight at Wild Goose Creative’s Tiny Art show. It’s a one night only show 6-9pm for this month’s Franklinton Friday. I can’t wait to see everyone’s small works there! (And everything is available for sale, so it’s a great time to take home some mini-art works).

Wild Goose Creative is at 188 McDowell St, Columbus, OH 43215.

Books about art and creativity by Michelle Boerio

Books about art, creativity, and making things.

Books about art, creativity, and making things.

Pictured are some of my current favorite books about art and creativity, both for adults and kids.

  • Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. A new classic, busts popular myths about creativity.

  • Show Your Work also by Austin Kleon. A great follow up to Steal Like an Artist, offers advice for ways to make creating a habit and share your work.

  • The Wander Society by Keri Smith (also the creator of Wreck This Journal, another favorite). This book invites you to join the mysterious Wander Society, explore nature, make stuff, and expand your mind.

  • Hey, Day! by Clea Hantman and Keva Marie. One of my absolute favorite books growing up, it offers a new fun, wacky, or creative activity for every day of the year.

  • Drawing Your Own Path by John F. Simon Jr. This book combines drawing and meditation to help you create your own more mindful practice.

  • Art Workshop for Children by Barbara Rucci and Betsy McKenna. Process orientated art activities for kids that are based in good educational theory!

Currently listening to... by Michelle Boerio

Currently listening to the Moby Dick Big Read, a sort of audiobook version of Moby-Dick created by Peninsula Arts and Plymouth University. I can’t decide whether the best part is the variety of readers’ voices or the links to awesome Moby-Dick related art with each chapter, but it’s very early days yet. Right now, Tilda Swinton is telling me all about the instinctual human desire to go to sea.
