The City Galactic
2018. 8" x 10". Acrylic and found paper on board.
A futuristic city hovers above an ambiguous yellow-gold background in The City Galactic. This painting was inspired in equal parts by the potential of current NASA research, the aesthetics of old sci-fi, and my lifelong love of sci-fi and fantasy stories.
I hold with those who favor fire
2018. 9" x 12". Acrylic on board.
An abstract study of the translucent colors of fire. The title I hold with those who favor fire comes from the Robert Frost poem “Fire and Ice”.
The Galaxy Nearby
2018. 12" x 9". Acrylic and cellophane on board.
The expanse of outer space becomes tactile in this layered look at the galaxy beyond our solar system.
